“I Regret Going to BBNaija, But I Love the Benefits” — Mercy Eke Sparks Online Debate Over Fame & Dating Struggles

Mercy Eke regrets BBNaija: Big Brother Naija Season 4 winner and All-Stars star Mercy Eke has sparked intense online conversation after making a candid confession about her journey with reality TV fame.
Speaking during a revealing episode on media personality Toke Makinwa’s podcast, Toke Moments, the entrepreneur and reality star admitted that while she appreciates the doors opened by the show, she sometimes regrets stepping onto the Big Brother stage.

The Price of Fame vs. Personal Peace

During the interview, Mercy opened up about the heavy burden of constant public scrutiny, loss of privacy, and sleepless nights that come with celebrity status in Nigeria.

      "I regret going to Big Brother, even though I         love the benefits that come from it," Mercy           revealed.

       "I wish I didn't go, because I know people         who have passed me in achievements but             nobody is talking about them because they       are not out there. But me, even when I'm not     doing anything, I can't even sleep at night."

She explained that constant public pressure forces celebrities into an endless cycle of keeping up appearances, whereas non-public figures build wealth and success quietly without intense scrutiny.

"Fame Has Made Marriage Difficult" she said.

Beyond the pressure to succeed, the BBNaija star shared an emotional look at how fame has complicated her romantic life and search for a life partner.

Mercy noted that financial imbalances in relationships have been a recurring hurdle whenever she tries to settle down:

         "I dey fall in love like mumu. Now I said to myself that I want to marry, but it's not easy. I have dated guys that I have given a lot of money to—not one, not two—because they don't have."

Her honest reflections shed light on a paradox many female celebrities face: achieving financial independence and fame, only for it to create friction in finding compatible partners.
