"Why Are Our Mums Different?" — Davido Opens Up On The Heartbreaking Questions His Daughters Ask Him About His Baby Mamas
Afrobeats global superstar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has gotten candid about the emotional complexities of raising children with multiple women, revealing that his growing daughters have started asking hard questions.
Speaking in a deeply reflective interview with the BBC, the father of six opened up about how his two eldest daughters, Imade and Hailey, are coming of age and processing their unique family structure.
According to the "Unavailable" hitmaker, as the girls grow older, they are becoming highly observant and curious about why their lives look different from traditional homes.
"My children are coming of age and they have started asking why they have different moms and why don't they live with me and stuff that kids ask," Davido shared honestly.
The Impact of Fame on His Kids
Davido further explained that his massive public lifestyle and music career also heavily impact the questions his kids bring home. He recalled a funny but eye-opening moment when his first daughter, Imade, confronted him about what she saw on television.
"One day, my first daughter walked up to me and said, 'Daddy, I saw you on TV holding and dancing with two girls,'" the singer recounted with a smile.
Despite the chaotic nature of managing a complex, multi-household family in the glaring eyes of the public, the 30BG boss emphasized that he makes it an absolute priority to remain actively present, loving, and deeply involved in the daily lives of all his children, that's good of him.
This revelation comes at a time when the conversation around celebrity "baby mama drama" is heavily trending across Nigeria, following similar viral warnings from fellow music executive Ubi Franklin.
